CURATOR'S NOTES:

New York City's history in art reveals the inherent dissonance of the place:
its equal extremes of ostentation and  privation, of overcrowding and isolation,
of free-spirited innovation and grid-locked desperation.

I was one who didn't "heart" the place at all.
But, having witnessed its gallantry in the face and aftermath of attack,
I'm now one who's had a change of heart.

Hard-edged.

 But essentially soft-hearted.

That's New York.
